Normal every day use should be fine, but if you leave the mount in the boot of a car in 50 degree + direct heat, or on a radiator etc etc, basically anywhere where the heat is severe, there is a chance that it may deform.
Don’t worry, it can be repaired quickly and easily.
Due to the manufacturing process, the PLA requires heat to melt into shape.
So with gentle and careful application of heat by a hair dryer/low temperature heat gun/etc you can slightly soften the mount where the damage occurs, then bend it back into shape.
Please be very careful if you do try this, as you need to do this very slowly and not overheat the area you are repairing. Once the PLA is soft, bend it back into the correct shape then hold it there for 10-20 seconds until it hardens.
We will publish a video shortly to show this being done.
Prototyping is a slow and labour intensive process, and we like to be sure our mounts are the best that they can be.
If your mount isn’t listed, please feel free to email us, as the next one we design is usually based upon how many requests we have had for it.
